Description
You step out onto your cabin balcony, light a cigarette, and think: private space, private rules.
On Carnival, that can mean a $500 charge per violation. You pocket a vape for the day in Mexico because you bought it legally at home, and it becomes a customs problem the moment you walk off the ship. You watch half the safety video and head for the pool, and the crew may come looking for you. Maybe you've seen somebody else get away with it. That doesn't turn the behavior into a rule. It means somebody got lucky once.

15:17 - Somebody Got Lucky Once: The 3 Checks I Do Before I Sail
I'm Calvin Rusk. 've taken enough cruises to learn that the most expensive rule is usually the one you assumed hadn't changed. Sailing after November first?
Some of these eleven are new or updated, others are old rules now being enforced far more seriously: the youth curfew families overlook, posting your own rule violation online, the drone rule people repeat wrong, skipping part of muster, fights that can get you removed from the ship, climbing on a railing for a photo, throwing anything overboard walking back to the ship with only your cruise card, and number one, the product that can be perfectly legal back home and still be prohibited on your cruise. Which of these have you actually seen enforced? Tell me the cruise line and how the crew handled it, just don't name another passenger.
Next time: the rules passengers over sixty keep getting wrong before they even reach security.
