Description

Running to work on all fours? We explore what daily life looks like if human evolution took a sharp turn away from walking. What if we never stood up? This thought experiment reconstructs a world where humanity navigates on all fours. We examine how our daily routines—from cars and offices to how we say hello—would shift if we hadn't adapted to a life on two legs. The transition to bipedalism was a massive physiological gamble, and the costs are still visible in our bodies today. By applying the principles of evolutionary biology, we can see how our homes, clothing, and even social interactions would be unrecognizable. We look at the fossil evidence and the biomechanics that forced our ancestors to stand, and whether a quadrupedal society could ever truly function.
