Alone in a Cold Cabin | Building an Off-Grid Life

My name is Karina, and I love nature, solitude, and the simple path of living close to the wilderness. Far away from people, deep in the mountains and forests, I built this small wooden cabin with my own hands. Over time, it became more than just a shelter — it became my home. This film tells the complete story of six months spent living in the wilderness with my cat. Together, we experienced changing seasons, storms, snowfall, and peaceful evenings by the fire. I built a stone fireplace to stay warm during winter, installed shutters on the windows, made outdoor furniture, improved the cabin, and slowly created a comfortable life far from civilization. When winter arrived, snow became my source of water. Every day required work — gathering firewood, maintaining the cabin, preparing food, and adapting to life in the mountains. It is not always easy, but there is something special about waking up surrounded by forests, mountains, silence, and freedom. This is a story about simple living, self-reliance, hard work, and finding happiness in a small cabin deep in the wilderness.
