Description

A powerful Nor’easter is hitting the U.S. East Coast, bringing coastal flooding, massive waves, dangerous surf, strong winds, and beach erosion from North Carolina to New Jersey. The East Coast storm is impacting North Carolina’s Outer Banks, Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads, Maryland’s Eastern Shore and Ocean City, the Delaware Beaches, and the Jersey Shore as dangerous coastal conditions continue across the region. In North Carolina, ocean overwash and powerful surf have affected the Outer Banks, including Pea Island and Rodanthe, where N.C. Highway 12 sustained storm damage. Communities along Hatteras Island remain especially vulnerable to high water, beach erosion, and dangerous surf. Farther north, Virginia is experiencing coastal and tidal flooding concerns around Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Hampton Roads, the Chesapeake Bay, and nearby rivers. Maryland’s Eastern Shore, including Ocean City and Assateague Island, is also dealing with elevated water and rough coastal conditions. Along the Delaware coast, Fenwick Island, Bethany Beach, Dewey Beach, Rehoboth Beach, and Lewes face high surf, coastal flooding, strong winds, and beach erosion. In New Jersey, the Jersey Shore remains a major focus, including Cape May, Wildwood, Atlantic City, Long Beach Island, Ocean County, and Monmouth County, as the Nor’easter brings dangerous surf, coastal flooding, strong winds, and additional beach erosion. This report covers the latest Nor’easter developments, East Coast flooding, storm damage, dangerous waves, affected communities, and changing conditions from the Outer Banks to the Jersey Shore. Follow official National Weather Service and local emergency management alerts for the latest weather warnings, coastal flooding information, road closures, and safety guidance. #NorEaster #EastCoast #CoastalFlooding
