I Tested One of AMD’s Wildest FX CPUs

Today we’re taking a look at the AMD FX-4170, a CPU from 2012 that shipped with a pretty ridiculous 4.2GHz base clock. On paper that still sounds fast today, but this was right in the middle of AMD’s Bulldozer era, where clock speed definitely didn’t tell the whole story. So how does one of AMD’s strangest high-clocked CPUs actually hold up in 2026? Thanks to Twingate for sponsoring today’s video!
