Description

Megan Is Missing (2011) is a psychological horror film written and directed by Michael Goi. Presented through webcam recordings, video diaries, and recovered footage, the film follows two teenage friends, Megan Stewart and Amy Herman, whose online interactions lead to a terrifying series of events. Megan is a popular teenager who frequently chats with strangers online, while Amy is her quieter and more vulnerable best friend. When Megan meets a boy named Josh through the internet, she begins communicating with him and eventually agrees to meet him in person. Soon afterward, Megan disappears, leaving Amy desperate to discover what happened to her friend. As Amy investigates Megan's disappearance, she becomes entangled in the same dangerous situation. The film uses a found-footage format to explore online predators, teenage vulnerability, internet safety, and the devastating consequences of trusting strangers online. Starring Rachel Quinn, Amber Perkins, and Dean Waite, the film is known for its disturbing content and bleak portrayal of online exploitation. It presents its story as a warning about the risks teenagers can face when interacting with unknown people on the internet.
