IOWA 1995 Cold Case Solved: A Private Investigator Says He Knows What Happened to Jodi Huisentruit

A private investigator says he knows who took her. Police still haven't confirmed a word of it. On June 27, 1995, KIMT-TV morning news anchor Jodi Huisentruit vanished from her apartment parking lot in Mason City, Iowa, minutes after calling in to say she'd overslept and was on her way to work. Her car was left behind. So were her keys — bent — along with an earring and a pair of shoes. She has never been found. This video covers the full case: the original 1995 investigation, the person of interest who died in 2024 without ever being charged, the search warrant that stayed sealed for years, and the private investigator's 2026 claim that he's identified a suspect based on an alleged decades-old confession — a claim the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation has not confirmed. Case status (as of this video): The case remains open and active, investigated jointly by the Mason City Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. 📞 FindJodi tip line: (641) 999-1109 📞 Mason City Police Department: (641) 421-3636 🌐 Submit a tip anonymously: FindJodi.com A privately funded reward has been offered for information leading to the location and identification of her remains — check FindJodi.com for the current confirmed amount, as reward terms have changed more than once.
