Description
Build a powerful DIY rocket stove that lets you cook outside without electricity or propane—and keeps all that extra heat out of your kitchen!
I made this rocket stove using a new one-gallon paint can, two recycled food cans and a sturdy cast-iron burner grate. Then I put it through several real cooking tests. It brought my tea kettle to a screaming boil in approximately seven minutes, cooked eggs in a frying pan and was sturdy enough to support a large cast-iron skillet.
If summer heat is making your kitchen unbearable—or you need an emergency cooking method during a power outage—this simple wood-burning stove could be extremely useful. Stay until the end, because I discovered another way to cook with it that makes it even more versatile!

SAFETY: Use outdoors only in a clear, well-ventilated area on a stable, noncombustible surface. Keep it away from buildings, railings and anything flammable. Never leave it unattended, and keep water or a fire extinguisher nearby. The stove and cookware become extremely hot.
