Description

📗 Get My Complete Poultry Guides Here: https://angusdouglaspoultry.com/ Worms are the one problem in a flock that gives you no warning. Your birds can look perfectly healthy while an infestation has already been building for two or three weeks. In this video I show you the five signs I check for, how a simple monthly fecal float test catches the problem during that silent window, and the old Scottish treatment my grandfather used once worms were confirmed. I go through the wormwood tea properly: one teaspoon of dried leaf steeped in a cup of boiled water, one to two tablespoons per gallon depending on the bird's size, run for three to five days and no longer. I also tell you why I'd never give it to chicks under four months old. I share the mistake I made myself, making the infusion far too strong so the hens refused to drink it at all, which wastes days you may not have to spare. Then there's the daily drink that keeps the clock from ever starting: one tablespoon of raw apple cider vinegar and two crushed garlic cloves per gallon, refreshed every two to three days. Underneath all of it is prevention most keepers skip, pasture rotation on a four to eight week cycle, dry ground, food grade diatomaceous earth at around 2% in the feed, and a notebook with monthly weights. If you keep a small flock and would rather catch worms early than lose a bird with no warning, this is the system I'd start with.
