Description

A powerful Nor’easter is slamming the U.S. Northeast, bringing major coastal flooding, massive waves, flooded homes, roads underwater, damaging winds and widespread power outages from New Jersey and New York to New England. New Jersey has experienced some of the storm’s most dramatic flooding. Water entered homes in Surf City on Long Beach Island, while roads flooded across Jersey Shore communities. Manasquan faced flooded streets and voluntary evacuations as powerful onshore winds pushed Atlantic water into vulnerable coastal and bayside areas. New York and Long Island are also being hit by powerful winds, coastal flooding and power outages. Thousands of customers lost electricity as the storm intensified, while exposed coastal communities faced rising water and dangerous travel conditions. Farther north, the Nor’easter has battered Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts with heavy rain, damaging winds and dangerous seas. Cape Cod, Nantucket, Martha’s Vineyard and other coastal Massachusetts communities have faced some of the strongest impacts as the storm pushes through New England. Across the Northeast, more than 100,000 homes and businesses lost power at the storm’s peak. Travel has also been severely disrupted, with 439 U.S. flights canceled and more than 2,400 delayed as the powerful East Coast storm affected major airports and transportation routes. Massive waves and dangerous surf continue pounding exposed sections of the East Coast. Repeated high tides are increasing the threat of additional coastal flooding, beach erosion and impassable roads, particularly in vulnerable shoreline and back-bay communities. This video covers the latest U.S. Nor’easter developments, including Northeast flooding, New Jersey flooding, Jersey Shore flooding, New York and Long Island storm impacts, Massachusetts storm damage, Cape Cod weather, flooded homes, roads underwater, massive waves, power outages, damaging winds and flight cancellations. The Nor’easter remains active, with coastal flooding, strong winds, heavy rain and dangerous surf continuing across parts of the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Follow National Weather Service alerts and local emergency officials for the latest flood warnings, road closures and safety information. #NorEaster #NortheastStorm #Flooding
