There, he discovers the Joker’s final plan: a remote transmitter connected to explosives beneath three emergency shelters, placing thirty-two innocent lives in danger. At the top of a massive ventilation shaft, the Joker forces Batman into an impossible decision. If Batman saves him, everyone inside the shelters could die. If he chooses the hostages, the rule that has defined him for years may never mean the same thing again.
