Description
If the total keeps landing higher than the number in your head and no single line on the receipt explains it, https://tsukamotoledger.com
The Ledger has my mother's food column, the column she fills before any other, and the four questions she asks of every receipt.
421 pages, 86 chapters, every claim sourced. $47 early-bird, 30-day refund.
I grew up in a Japanese house. I've now lived in America longer than I lived in Japan.
Everyone tells you it's the price of food. American groceries are some of the cheapest anywhere. What keeps climbing is the finishing, and the finished version sits at eye level while the plain one sits down by your shins.
My mother has kept the same twenty plain things in her kitchen for as long as I can remember. Each one gets two prices, the plain one and the finished one beside it, plus the dinner it turns into. A few of them came out the other way, and I say so. The last one has a second job after its first one is done.
Where America is right: Americans spend a smaller share of their money on groceries than people almost anywhere else, and for hands that ache, the finished version is worth every cent.
This channel explains systems and habits. It isn't financial advice. For your own money decisions, talk to a financial adviser who knows your situation.
If you make it to the end, leave one word in the comments: done. And tell me which one of the twenty is never in your cart.
For the house those habits live in, that's my main channel, Two Houses: @kentsukamoto
