New 2027 BMW Concept 7 Protection - your Bulletproof 7 Series is here!

Introducing the all new 2027 BMW Concept 7 Protection armoured luxury sedan. BMW has unveiled the all new BMW Concept 7-Protection, a new armoured luxury sedan designed to keep passengers safe, without looking different from a regular 7 Series. Unlike heavily armoured vehicles, the Concept 7 Protection focuses on protection against common handgun threats. It features bullet-resistant glass, reinforced doors and extra protection in the roof and bodywork. All these elements are carefully hidden to maintain the appearance of a standard luxury sedan. BMW says the car meets the new BayB safety standard and is designed to withstand common handgun ammunition, including 9 mm and 44 Magnum rounds. However, it does not offer the higher levels of protection against explosives, found in more heavily armoured models. Under the bonnet, the concept uses technology from the BMW M 760e xDrive plug-in hybrid. This system combines a 3-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine, with an electric motor, producing 612 hp and 800 Nm of torque. BMW has also adjusted the suspension, brakes and driving systems to handle the additional weight. Inside, the car offers white Merino leather, Alcantara finishes and privacy glass. Rear passengers benefit from a new centre console with a folding table, wireless phone charging and a cool box. This feature will also become available on regular BMW 7 Series models in the second half of 2027. Other safety features include an intercom that allows passengers to speak with people outside without opening the windows, along with an alarm system that activates lights and sounds during an attack. The Concept 7 Protection sits below the BMW 7 Series Protection in terms of security. BMW is initially focusing on selected European markets.
