Description
Everyone knows Schrödinger's cat: a cat in a box, alive and dead at the same time. Here's what almost nobody tells you — Erwin Schrödinger invented that cat to mock the idea. He thought it was absurd, and he built the whole thing to show that something had gone badly wrong with the way physicists were thinking about reality.
In this video we take apart four myths about the most famous cat in science: what the thought experiment really says, why Schrödinger hated the quantum "jumps" he helped make famous, why no conscious observer is needed to open the box, and the question his cat left open that physicists still can't answer today.
