On August 25, 2026, the Indian film industry lost one of the most iconic action and romance directors of the 90s. Kuku Kohli (Avtar Singh Kohli), the man who introduced Ajay Devgn to the world on two moving motorcycles in Phool Aur Kaante, passed away at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. Born in Peshawar and trained under the legendary Raj Kapoor for 11 long years, Kuku Kohli spent his career redefining Bollywood action with blockbusters like Suhaag, Haqeeqat, Anari No. 1, and Yeh Dil Aashiqana. However, behind his directorial success lay a deeply personal and secretive love story. While shooting Suhaag, he fell in love with legendary actress Aruna Irani. Despite being already married to Rita Kohli, he and Aruna Irani married secretly in 1990. Out of respect for his first family, Aruna Irani kept the marriage hidden for years and even made the heartbreaking decision never to have children of her own to save her potential child from societal stigma. This video pays a grand tribute to the box-office maestro who gave us one of Bollywood's biggest superstars and lived a life of immense dedication to cinema and family. 🙏 Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4pLhHTgL-WUgH1GlEo6jmg/join Blog - https://oldactorsbiography.blogspot.com/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/hindiradioindia/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/HindiRadioIndia Subscribe to get notification of latest video https://goo.gl/iMhDyU
