Description

In Alexandria, Egypt, the ancient world's most famous city lost every wonder, yet at 4:30 each morning its fish market still opens with six auctions at once. Three earthquakes brought down the Lighthouse of Alexandria. Boys now dive off the rocks where it once stood. A Roman theater lay buried under rubbish for centuries and came back whole. The city's tram has carried passengers since 1863. This 4K travel documentary follows life in Egypt across 18 places in one Mediterranean port city. Along the way are boatbuilders who work without drawings and a mosque that fishermen steer home by. A new library, opened in 2002, carries on the work of the Library of Alexandria. By the end, you will understand how Alexandrians kept 2,000 years of trades, prayers and daily habits after the great buildings were gone. #traveldocumentary #alexandria #alexandriaegypt #egypt
