Description
Soft chocolate chip cookies with a crispy, crinkly sugar top, made with simple ingredients you probably already have at home. These remind me of the cookies my grandma used to make. The dough uses yogurt and melted butter, comes together in minutes and is super easy to shape by hand. A perfect easy cookie recipe, even if you've never baked before.
*Ingredients:*
* Sugar - ½ cup (100 g)
* Plain yogurt - ¼ cup (50 g)
* Eggs - 2
* Melted butter (not hot) - ⅓ cup (80 g)
* Vanilla extract - ½ tsp. (2 ml)
* All-purpose flour - 2⅓ cups (280 g)
* Baking powder - 2 tsp. (8 g)
* Salt - a pinch
* Chocolate chips - ⅔ cup (100 g)
* Sugar and powdered sugar for coating
Just a handful of pantry basics and some chocolate chips for homemade cookies that taste straight from a bakery.
*Instructions:*
1. Mix the sugar, yogurt, eggs, melted butter and vanilla until the sugar completely dissolves.
2. Add the flour, baking powder and a pinch of salt.
3. Mix until you don't see any dry flour.
4. Mix in the chocolate chips.
5. Dust the work surface with flour and coat the dough in a little flour.
6. Flatten the dough gently and take a piece.
7. With lightly floured hands, shape each cookie.
8. Dip in sugar (optional) and place on the baking tray.
9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
10. Dust the tops with powdered sugar for the crinkly look.
11. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-17 minutes.
These cookies bake up light and soft inside with a crispy, sugary outside and a pretty crinkly top. There's chocolate in every bite, and they're great with a glass of milk or a cup of coffee. They're easy to make in a big batch, so they're perfect for sharing with family and friends.
