Astronauts Saw Flashes With Their Eyes Closed

Some astronauts have reported brief flashes of light even with their eyes closed. High-energy particles can pass through the eye and stimulate the retina, creating a visual sensation without external light. Editorial note: these reported flashes are a radiation-physics effect, not evidence of an external object or a paranormal event.
