Description

Deep in the American Southwest, I hiked into a remote canyon in search of an ancient city hidden high among the cliffs. What started as a journey through rugged desert terrain quickly became an incredible exploration of ancient history. I traversed exposed cliff ledges and climbed deeper into the canyon, discovering ancient cliff dwellings, hidden rooms, rock shelters, pottery fragments, arrowheads, petroglyphs, pictographs and other incredible traces left behind by the Indigenous peoples who lived throughout this landscape centuries ago. Some of these ancient structures were built in places that seem almost impossible to reach. Entire dwellings sit beneath massive sandstone overhangs and high above the canyon floor, raising fascinating questions about how these communities lived, traveled and survived in such a remote environment. Join me as I explore the canyons of the American Southwest, searching for ancient ruins, archaeological sites, Native American rock art, cliff dwellings and evidence of the people who once called this incredible desert landscape home. Please respect archaeological sites. Never remove artifacts, disturb structures or damage rock art. These places and objects belong where they have remained for generations. #Discovery #CliffDwellings #Adventure
