If ideas and memes can travel instantly across our hyper-connected, digital information space, certain ideas—those that most threaten power—must be prophylactically treated. And, if that is the case, then, an ideological vaccine of sorts must be engineered. But, what kind of ideology would best fill this role? An ideal ideology would meet two primary requirements: 1) it must resonate with sentiments found in a high proportion of the masses, and 2) minimize the risk that a counter-elite, whether foreign or domestic, succeeds in galvanizing a significant portion of the population for the purpose of executing a regime change or a revolution. To explore this landscape, we will discuss what Randall Lloyd calls Subjective Mental Reality, or, more provocatively, tertiary psychosis, a condition that he argues, is the inevitable outcome of the late-stage progressivist constellation of ideologies that dominates the Western world. What better way to prevent coalescence and unification of the masses, than to imprison many of them in their own hyper-unique, subjective mental realities—one far removed from the constraints of logic, rationality, and the constraints of reality itself. From inside such a construction, facts and logic, or, broadly, destabilizing informational packets—will reliably bounce off its armored surface, and the risk of mass galvanization is thus neutralized for no two subjective mental realities will be quite the same and thus the rate of aggregate formation amongst the masses will be minimized. Such an ideology, ultimately, would be one that maximally protects the status quo—to understand and challenge power, you must understand reality, and if a large portion of the masses are infantilized and suspended within their own subjective mental reality bubbles, their ability to comprehend reality and thus their ability to challenge power will be neutralized.
