Description

After the successful launch and insertion of the Nancy Roman telescope to an L2 trajectory, I decided to look at the telemetry data, and compare first with Starship and later with New Glenn, I have lots of graphs including raw and smoothed graphs using different filters. Here is the velocity-time graphs with my rough annotations. What becomes clear is the immense velocity and height, which is clear if I was also to show the altitude-time graph at MECO, this indicates why recovering the FH Center core is difficult and reduces payload significantly. If I get time, I will make a full video. Let me know if there is an aspect of the FH you are interested in comparison with either New Glenn or Starship. Drop a comment below
