Description
Inside Manila’s hidden tunnel community, where around 100 families live beneath one of the city’s busiest freeway corridors in the Philippines.
This documentary goes inside Manila’s hidden under-freeway settlement to show how people really live beneath the city. We explore how families sleep, cook, survive the night, deal with heat, darkness, cramped space, and the constant noise of traffic overhead. We also look at how many people live here, how hard it is to move inside these low-clearance spaces, what daily life looks like for parents and children, the difficult living conditions in "manila philippines", focusing on families residing in cramped and basic accommodations. It's a poignant "philippines documentary" that reveals the persistent challenges of "poverty" and what "life in the philippines" truly entails for many in its "slums in the philippines". and why a place never built for human life became home.
The story is bigger than poverty. It is about survival, informal urban life, family resilience, overcrowding, access to electricity, sanitation, flood danger, and what happens during the rainy season when water rises and fragile living spaces are threatened. In the Philippines, the southwest monsoon typically runs from May to September, making flood pressure and heavy-rain exposure a real part of life for vulnerable communities in Metro Manila.
