LOP Ssenyonyi Demands Release of Political Detainees, MPs Raise Insecurity & Power Concerns

Uganda’s Parliament discusses key national issues as Leader of Opposition Joel Ssenyonyi calls for detained opposition supporters and journalists to be released or given fair trials. He also questions how savings from national celebrations could have supported public servants and addressed outstanding wage arrears. MPs further raise concerns over rural electrification in Kyegegwa and Gulu, rising insecurity and brutal murders in Kyaka Central and Bua South, support for former national sports figures, and the suspension of land operations by the Ministry of Lands.
