Description
A 28-year-old woman became the focus of a police investigation after detectives linked her to an alleged gift card fraud scheme involving nearly $100,000 in losses. But when officers arrived at her apartment with a search warrant, the investigation quickly expanded beyond purchases at Victoria’s Secret.
On August 5, 2024, Lynnwood police arrived at an apartment in Monroe, Washington, looking for Hayley Brown. Investigators had been examining suspicious transactions involving Victoria’s Secret and PINK gift cards, including purchases at Alderwood Mall. According to police, the alleged scheme involved generating gift card numbers and presenting them as barcodes on a phone to spend money belonging to other customers.
The investigation reportedly involved approximately 100 victims and purchases across several states. Detectives followed the transactions back to Brown and obtained a warrant to search her apartment.
This video follows the bodycam Footage, the conversations outside the apartment, and the investigation behind an alleged gift card scheme that led police to much more than stolen merchandise.
