Unearthed: The Secrets Of A 300-Year-Old Weapons Forge

Join us as we uncover a 17th-century blast furnace hidden entirely beneath a local pub in Leighton, England. Long before the Industrial Revolution exploded down the road in Ironbridge, this charcoal-powered forge was churning out iron and manufacturing explosive cannonballs for Royalist forces during the English Civil War. Watch as archaeologists excavate the massive water wheel, casting arches, and ancient slag pits to reveal how this forgotten powerhouse operated, and ultimately, why it was made obsolete by the march of modern industrial progress.
