Today Bible Verse in Tamil | Today Bible Verse | Today's Bible Verse | Bible Verse Today | 13.10.2026 ENGLISH VERSION: Today's Bible Verse (13.10.2026) VERSE: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: (1 PETER 2:23 KJV) EXPLANATION: Blessed be the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is easy to speak humbly in prayer, but our true character is revealed by how we respond when others insult or humiliate us. A young man teased an elderly woman who described herself in prayer as a worm and dust. She became angry. This raises an important question: was her humility genuine if an insult could quickly provoke her? A worm moves quietly and does not attack, while a snake can frighten others. We must examine our reactions: do we respond with humility, or with anger and pride? Look at Jesus. “He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.” (Isaiah 53:7) Even on the cross, He prayed, “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34) As 1 Peter 2:23 teaches, true humility appears in how we treat those who hurt us and control our words when angry. Humility does not mean accepting injustice. We can speak firmly without letting anger or revenge control us. Scripture teaches, “And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” (Galatians 5:24, 25, 26) You cannot control how others treat you, but you can choose your response. When anger rises, pause, seek God's help, and consider whether your words and actions please Him. Choose forgiveness instead of revenge, humility instead of pride, and the character of Christ instead of imitating those who humiliate you. The Bible says, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” (Philippians 2:5) Ask God to renew your thoughts and actions so Christ's humility can be seen in your life. Help me control my words and actions and show the character of Jesus. Renew my heart and mind, and let the mind of Christ dwell in me. Help me live with humility and forgiveness. May others see Your love in me. Be my strength in weakness and help me live according to Your Word. May Your name be glorified throughout my life.
