Colin Farrell became almost unrecognizable as Oswald Cobblepot, better known as the Penguin, in Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Instead of relying on CGI, the production used custom silicone prosthetics designed by makeup artist Mike Marino to completely transform Farrell’s face and body. The makeup process reportedly took around three to four hours, but the prosthetics still allowed Farrell to move his mouth and express emotions naturally. The transformation was so convincing that even people who worked alongside him reportedly failed to recognize him at first.
