Description
Something magical-looking happens while Kanha and his friends prepare for Navratri in Vrindavan!
Radha and Tara create a beautiful liquid rangoli-style pattern using bright colours:
🔵 Blue
🟡 Yellow
🔴 Red
🟢 Green
The colours are sitting peacefully in a shallow thali when Kanha brings a tiny soap-tipped cotton bud near the centre.
Madhumangal quickly warns him:
*“Kanha! Don’t spoil the rangoli!”*
Kanha gently touches the centre and suddenly…
🌈 *WHOOSH!*
ALL the colours race outward!
Radha is shocked:
*“Why are the colours moving by themselves?!”*
And Madhumangal immediately has a theory:
*“Kanha! The colours are scared of you!”* 😂
But Kanha knows that science needs a test.
## 🔍 THE INVESTIGATION
The friends prepare fresh colourful setups and compare:
🪵 Clean stick → no dramatic movement
☁️ Dry cotton tip → no dramatic movement
🧼 Soap-tipped cotton → colours rush outward!
Now Radha understands:
*“So the magic wasn’t in Kanha’s hand!”*
The important clue was the *soap*.
## 🌈 WHAT IS SURFACE TENSION?
Kanha explains the idea simply for young children:
The top surface of a liquid has a kind of gentle “grip”.
This is called:
*Surface Tension — सतही तनाव*
Soap changes this surface tension. The liquid begins to move, and the food colouring makes that movement easy to see.
That is why the colours appear to suddenly “run away”.
It may look like magic…
but it is SCIENCE! 🔬✨
## 🧠 PREDICT BEFORE THE RESULT
Kanha turns the mystery into a fun prediction game.
He asks:
*“Which one will make the colours move — dry cotton or soap cotton?”*
Pause the video and let your child guess before Sudama gives the answer!
The experiment helps children practise:
✅ Prediction
✅ Observation
✅ Cause and effect
✅ Comparing results
✅ Scientific thinking
## 🪷 THE NAVRATRI COLOUR CHALLENGE
For the final experiment, Radha arranges fresh blue, yellow, red and green colours in a beautiful circle.
Kanha asks:
*“What will happen when the soap touches the centre?”*
Madhumangal confidently answers:
*“This time I know — the colours will run!”* 😂
The soap-tipped cotton touches the centre…
and the colours spread into spectacular swirls, curves and branching patterns.
Radha smiles:
*“Now the colours are making their own design!”*
Madhumangal laughs:
*“इन colours का भी Garba शुरू हो गया!”*
The colourful science mystery flows directly into the Navratri celebration.
## 🌟 WHAT CHILDREN LEARN
This fun STEM story introduces:
🌈 Surface tension
🧼 How soap changes a liquid surface
💧 Movement of liquids
🎨 Colour mixing
🔍 Observation
🧠 Prediction
🧪 Fair comparison
💡 Cause and effect
The learning journey is:
*Notice → Wonder → Predict → Test → Compare → Understand*
## ⚠️ SIMPLE SAFETY NOTE
The colourful milk experiment is for observation and learning.
Once soap is added, the liquid should *not be drunk*. Children should try science activities only with responsible adult supervision.
