Description
🔗 The Complete Method I Teach, Written Down — The Door, The Road, The Days Away: https://edbrannigan.com/
Somebody knocked on a house on a Wednesday morning. Three raps, a pause, three more, then about forty seconds of standing there, and then he walked back down the drive and left.
Nobody heard it, because nobody was in it.
The woman who filed that report kept asking me how they picked her. She thought there had to be something she had done. There was nothing. Somebody knocked and got no answer, and that was the whole of it.
One distinction first, because two completely different things get called the same word.
There is a knock that wants your door open, with a story about a wrong address. That is a confrontation and I have covered it before. This video is the other one, the knock that hopes you are not there. It does not want a conversation. It wants a result, and silence is the result it came for.
In this video: why the time of day is the tell and why the morning matters more than the night. What they actually do in the forty seconds afterward, and why the attention goes everywhere except the door. The leaflet wedged in your door frame working as a timer. And the second knock at the same hour, which is the one that matters.
The most important thing here is a distinction people get backwards constantly. Answering the door and opening the door are two different acts, and the defence is the first one. A voice through closed wood, two seconds, on the days you would rather not.
I also tell you what video doorbells do badly, which is the part that gets sold and does not work as advertised.
📕 Off the List, three books at edbrannigan.com. A hundred and eighty-six checks, in the order I would do them. QR in the video, link in the pinned comment.
💬 Are you a person who calls out, or a person who goes quiet? Be honest.
Latch the gate.
