📕 Get the full cookbook - The Lunch Lady's $3,600-a-Year Grocery Cut (175 recipes & tricks, scaled for 1, 2, or a family, $27): http://dorislunchlady.com/ In 1930, a woman named Mabel Holmes looked at a biscuit as hard as a doorstop, baked by a widowed father, and put supper in a little box. By the time I was a girl, every mother on our street kept a blue box of Jiffy in the cupboard. I am Mrs. Doris, the oldest of five from Scioto County, Ohio, and the lunch lady who fed four hundred children a day for thirty-five years. These are seventeen suppers from that little blue box: corn waffles under chili, a church pancake supper, spoonbread for a husband with the flu, my mother's ham upside-down cornbread, and a father and two boys in 1990 who needed the same box Mabel made. #jiffymix #nostalgia #lunchlady
