Description
🔗 Save Money On Meat With My Complete Butcher’s Method I teach: https://frankmillerbutcher.com
Rib prices at the barbecue joint have gotten out of hand, and most people bring home the wrong rack trying to fix that at Costco.
After 31 years behind a meat counter, I'll show you the five rib packs I walk right past and the one I buy every single time.
That one is the St. Louis style pork spare ribs — 8.73 pounds, three racks, $22.99 where I shop. That works out to under eight dollars a rack.
I cook one on camera in a plain kitchen oven at 275 with nothing but salt and pepper, no smoker, and we slice it open at the end so you can see inside.
Along the way I explain the one word on a label that makes ribs taste like ham, how to spot shiners through the plastic, and the single sentence to say at the meat window that can get you the rib tips for free.
If you've ever had ribs come out tough, dry, or a little like ham, it wasn't you — it was the rack, the salt, and about an hour on the clock.
