Description

A brown bottle of hydrogen peroxide costs about a dollar at the Dollar General. The mold and mildew spray on the shelf above it runs five or six. Most folks who bring the dollar bottle home use it wrong, because nobody told them the two rules my sanitizer bucket lived by: the right strength, and wet long enough. For thirty-five years I fed four hundred children a day out of a Scioto County, Ohio, school kitchen, and I tested my sanitizer bucket with a strip every morning. Here are eight jobs for that dollar bottle in the house and the garden, each one graded honestly. ⚠️ THE RULES: Peroxide never goes in a bucket, bottle or drain with bleach or with vinegar, not together and not one right behind the other. Three percent drugstore peroxide only; the strong "food grade" kind burns skin and has no place in a house. Nothing on your body or your pets. And this bottle will not kill a mouse or a roach; for those, call a good, honest professional. This week: cut a raw potato and test the bottle you already own. If it foams, give one pot with flies over it the drench, then let the top inch dry. Tell me in the comments which one is growing at your house right now, the black in the grout or the flies over the ferns, and what county you are fighting it in. I am a retired school cook, not a chemist, a doctor or a pest professional. Nothing in this video is medical advice. Read the label on every product you use, and never mix cleaning products. #HydrogenPeroxide #GardenTips #OldFashioned
