Description
#history #archaeology #clovisfirst
In 1987, a construction crew working along Medicine Creek Reservoir in Nebraska pulled something out of the ground that nobody was ready for. Mammoth bones. Big ones. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was what had been done to them.
The thick limb bones were spirally fractured, cracked open in the specific pattern you only get when someone deliberately breaks fresh bone to get at the marrow inside. Impact points on the midshafts. Calculated. Deliberate. Then the date came back.
