Description
How does a 650-pound grizzly bear survive being hit by two trains? In this wildlife documentary, we explore three legendary grizzly bear stories from North America — from Bear 122 “The Boss” in Banff National Park to Old Ephraim and the deadly events remembered as the Night of the Grizzlies.
First, we follow Bear 122, better known as The Boss, one of Banff National Park’s most famous grizzly bears. His remarkable survival story has made him one of the best-known bears in the Canadian Rockies.
Then we travel back more than a century to the story of Old Ephraim, the enormous three-toed grizzly whose legend grew throughout the mountains of Utah after years of attempts to track him down.
Finally, we examine the tragic events of August 12, 1967, in Glacier National Park. Remembered as the Night of the Grizzlies, two fatal grizzly bear attacks occurred during the same night and became an important chapter in the history of human-bear conflict in North America.
From famous grizzly bears to historic bear attacks, these are three stories that helped shape how people understand and coexist with one of North America’s most powerful wild animals.
