She Faked a Home Invasion to Get Away With Murder

When David Twig is found dead inside a locked storeroom following a fire at his Lincolnshire workshop, his partner Julie Dixon tells police that two masked men attacked them and set the building alight. But as detectives investigate the suspicious 999 call, a series of disturbing discoveries begins to undermine her account. In this episode of 999 Killer On The Line, investigators examine the fire scene, trace the movements of the alleged attackers and uncover a financial situation far more serious than anyone realised. With mounting debts, petrol found on Julie's clothing and CCTV footage showing her purchasing fuel, the evidence begins to point in a different direction. When Julie claims that she and David had planned a joint suicide, detectives must determine whether her explanation fits the forensic evidence. Further investigation reveals troubling internet searches, while her changing accounts raise even more questions about what really happened that night. This true crime documentary follows the police investigation into David Twig's death, revealing how forensic evidence, financial records and a suspicious emergency call helped detectives challenge a carefully constructed story and bring a premeditated murder to light.
