Three months on each. Same BMW, same driver, same routes, same maintenance, same octane the entire time. We tracked fuel economy, fuel trims, cold starts, misfires, and exactly what we spent at the pump. And here's what surprised us: there wasn't a dramatic mechanical winner. All three fuels performed remarkably close to each other. But when we added up what we were actually getting for the money, one of these three stations made a lot more sense for a BMW owner — and it had nothing to do with the engine magically running better on it. Stick around, because there's also a 2026 development in the fuel industry that changes part of this conversation, and most owners haven't heard about it yet.
