📗 Get My Complete Kitchen Guides Here: https://margretmillerkitchen.com/ If every steak at Costco costs $12, $15, $20 a pound, you've probably been walking right past that beef case. I spent 53 years behind the block, starting at 19 in my father's butcher shop, and I know where the good meat hides when the price is low. In this video I walk through 7 secrets I use to find high-quality beef at Costco for under $5 a pound — buying whole pieces instead of cut steaks, when prime is actually worth it, and how to read a chuck roast package in 10 seconds. I also cover the cuts nobody buys, eye of round for sliced roast beef and shank for braising, plus why stew meat only makes sense when it's cheaper than chuck. The big one is the chuck eye. It's the same muscle as a ribeye, sitting inside an ordinary chuck roast at the chuck roast price, and two cuts with a knife gets it out. If ribeye runs $15 and chuck runs $5, that's about $10 saved per steak. At the end I cook those two steaks in cast iron so you can see what comes out. This is for anyone staring at rising beef prices who still wants a good steak on the table.
