This Wooden Knife Was 3x Sharper than Steel Knife!

A wooden knife that cuts steak sounds impossible—but researchers at the University of Maryland demonstrated exactly that. Scientists developed hardened wood with approximately 23 times the hardness of untreated wood. By removing some components and compressing the material with heat and pressure, they reduced structural weaknesses and turned it into a working blade. In testing, the hardened wooden knife was nearly three times sharper than the stainless-steel dinner knife used for comparison. Researchers also demonstrated it slicing through a medium-well steak. Explore the materials science behind this unusual knife, the surprising strength hidden inside wood, and how researchers are investigating alternatives to conventional cutlery. The sharpness comparison concerns the dinner knife tested—not every steel knife or surgical blade. #Shorts #WoodenKnife #ScienceFacts #KnifeFacts #MaterialsScience #AmazingInventions #GleeMysteries For educational and documentary purposes only.
