Description

Getting up from the floor can feel surprisingly harder after 60, even if you still walk, exercise, and stay active. In this Senior Wellness video, discover four practical movements designed to challenge the mobility, control, hip strength, and movement skills involved in rising from the floor. Building these abilities can be an important part of senior health and maintaining physical independence as you age. You’ll practice the Shin Box Get-Up, Supported Cossack Squat, Single-Leg Hip Thrust, and Elevated Cross-Leg Get-Up. Each movement targets a different physical challenge, giving you a more complete approach to senior health than simply repeating ordinary leg exercises. These exercises can be adjusted to your current ability using sturdy support, a higher starting surface, or a smaller range of motion. For senior health, progress doesn’t mean performing every movement perfectly—it means gradually developing better control, confidence, and more movement options. Follow the 3–4 week practice plan in the video and track how your movement changes. At Senior Wellness, our goal is to make senior health practical, understandable, and achievable through safe, progressive exercise.
