Description

Kevin O'Leary story - he worked for Steve Jobs in the early 90s building educational software and said "Not a nice guy." Jobs would tell a room: "I don't care what students or parents think they want. They don't know what they want until I tell them." When O'Leary told him he sounded rude, Jobs said: "Are we making money? Are we wildly successful? Then do what I say." Why he was right - The 80/20 Rule: Jobs lived by Signal to Noise Ratio. Signal = the 3-5 things you MUST get done in the next 18 hours you're awake. Not next week. Just the next 18 hours. Anything that stops you from those 3 things is noise. Jobs was 80% signal, 20% noise. Elon Musk, according to O'Leary, is 100% signal - 60 seconds of every minute, 18 hours a day. Business Lesson: If you feel busy but not moving forward, you're 20% signal, 80% noise. Tonight, write ONLY 3 things that must get done tomorrow to move your mission. Everything else is noise until those 3 are done. That's how you protect your signal like Jobs did. Is your day 80/20 or 20/80?
