The 7 heavens : He visited all of them

Genesis 5:24 says Enoch "walked with God, and he was not, for God took him" — twelve words, and no explanation of where he went. A nearly-lost ancient text called Second Enoch, rediscovered in Slavonic monastery copies and confirmed by Coptic fragments found in Egypt, claims to be his own account of that journey: a climb through seven layers of heaven, from the storehouses of snow and ice to the throne of God itself. In this video, we walk through all seven heavens exactly as the text describes them — the imprisoned angels of the second heaven, paradise and its opposite side by side in the third, the sun's fiery escort in the fourth, the silent Watchers of the fifth, the recording angels of the sixth, and Enoch's own transformation at the threshold of the seventh. We separate what's actually in the ancient manuscript from what later legend added, and trace how this same Enoch reappears centuries later under a startling new name: Metatron. This is not scripture, and it's not a claim about doctrine — it's a look at how Jewish and early Christian readers, in the century around Jesus's own lifetime, pictured what lies directly above us. 📖 If you want more deep dives into the texts that almost made it into your Bible — and the ones that didn't — subscribe and turn on notifications.
