Dolly Parton Pre-Recorded Her Own Death Announcement — And Chose a Song Nobody Expected

Dolly Parton didn't just plan her music career, she planned her funeral too. When the country music legend died on August 25, 2026, at age 80, her family revealed a goodbye that was deliberate, private, and entirely her. In this video, we break down exactly what Dolly planned: the plush cotton casket lining, the cotton dress and signature high heels, the gospel hymn she requested over her own catalog, the crypt plate engraved with her name before she ever died, and the unreleased song locked in a box at Dollywood. We also explain why she refused a public memorial — and what DollyFest, the two-continent festival she designed herself, means for the millions of fans she left behind. This is a story about pre-planning, privacy, legacy, and what it actually looks like to die on your own terms. All facts verified across multiple primary sources.
