Description

The 1995/96 Premier League season, animated matchweek by matchweek! 🏆 Manchester United completed one of the greatest title comebacks in Premier League history, overturning a 12-point deficit to Newcastle United to reclaim the English league title under Sir Alex Ferguson. Kevin Keegan's Newcastle looked unstoppable, with Les Ferdinand scoring 25 league goals and David Ginola dazzling defenders. But Eric Cantona's return, combined with the emergence of David Beckham, Paul Scholes and the famous Class of '92, helped Manchester United turn the title race upside down. One of the season's defining moments came at Anfield, where Liverpool defeated Newcastle 4-3 in an unforgettable thriller, with Stan Collymore scoring a dramatic stoppage-time winner. United eventually secured the championship with 82 points, finishing four ahead of Newcastle after a 3-0 victory over Middlesbrough on the final day. Meanwhile, Dennis Bergkamp made his Premier League debut for Arsenal, Alan Shearer scored an incredible 31 goals for Blackburn Rovers, and Liverpool finished third. At the bottom, Manchester City suffered a heartbreaking relegation on goal difference after drawing 2-2 with Liverpool, joining Queens Park Rangers and Bolton Wanderers in the second tier. From Newcastle's incredible 12-point lead to Manchester United's historic comeback and Manchester City's dramatic final-day relegation, watch the complete 1995/96 FA Carling Premiership standings evolve through all 38 matchweeks. 20 clubs. 38 matchweeks.
