Jeffrey Dahmer in Heaven… But a Good Atheist in Hell Bishop Barron Responds

Could Jeffrey Dahmer receive God's forgiveness and enter heaven? And what about someone who lives a good life but dies without believing in Jesus? In this conversation from *Within Reason*, Alex O'Connor challenges Bishop Robert Barron on one of Christianity's most difficult questions: how can God's mercy and justice exist together? They discuss the meaning of Christ's resurrection, genuine repentance, the possibility of salvation for atheists, forgiveness for terrible crimes, and the Catholic understanding of purgatory. But the most difficult question may be this: if someone hurts another person, what gives God the right to forgive them? In this episode, The Christian Take examines the arguments from a Christian perspective, exploring what the Bible teaches about grace, repentance, and justice. **Original conversation:** Within Reason, hosted by Alex O'Connor, featuring Bishop Robert Barron.
