Description

Did you know the Philippines has the wildest traditions? Number 1: Sabong Also known as cockfighting. It has existed in the Philippines for centuries, even before colonization. Inside an arena, two roosters fight while crowds place bets and cheer for their side. This tradition became so popular that it turned into a major part of fiestas and Filipino betting culture. And sadly for the losing rooster, it might even end up as tinola. Number 2: Spider fighting. In the Philippines, some kids would catch small spiders and keep them inside matchboxes like tiny homes. When it was time to battle, they placed the spiders on sticks and made them fight while others watched, cheered, and sometimes made friendly bets on which spider would win. This was basically a real-life Filipino Pokémon battle that many Filipinos experienced as kids. #philippines #interesting #facts #interestingfacts #filipino #didyouknow #education #tradition #culture #spiderfighting #sabong #tinolangmanok
