Description

I stood in the dollar store's canning aisle this fall and did what I should've done years ago, I bought every canning-looking thing on the shelf and put it to a real test on canning day. Ten items, a hot stove, and no mercy. Only three made it into my canning box. The rest went back where they came from, a couple of them for reasons I never would've guessed. And the one that surprised me most wasn't anywhere near the canning shelf at all, it ties back to a summer evening in 1963 and a lesson I didn't understand until years later. Have you ever trusted a dollar store find with something that mattered? Tell me about it in the comments.
