He bought his first Classic Mini at just 14 years old — for only £100, paid entirely in £1 coins. But this 1985 Austin Mini Mayfair wasn’t simply a cheap first car. For Alexander, owning a Mini was something he had dreamed about since he was six years old. More than 20 years later, C935 EMT is still with him. In this episode of Classic Car Stories, Alexander tells the remarkable story of the little red Mini that grew up with him — from discovering it sitting rather forlornly in a garden as a teenager, through years of rebuilding, modifying and improving it, to the accident that very nearly brought their story to an end.
