Hólmganga (The Viking Duel) | Viking Music | Dark Folk

Nordic Versecraft presents “Hólmganga,” a ritual battle chant about honor, accusation, judgment, and steel. ⚔️🛡️ In the Old Norse world, a hólmganga was a formal duel used to settle disputes, insults, property claims, and questions of honor. The opponents met on marked ground, originally often a small island, and fought under agreed rules before witnesses. “Hólmganga” follows the duel from the first challenge to the final judgment. Shields break one after another. Iron strikes iron. Neither warrior flees, and neither gives ground until blood reaches the ground and the men standing between them declare the fight finished.
