Description
You killed the one you saw, and a week later there was another one. That is not because your kitchen is dirty. The University of Kentucky says cockroaches spend almost no time on a baseboard, so the one crossing yours was never standing there long enough to take a killing dose, and nothing about why it came inside has changed. Anak, sit down. You are dealing with two different animals: the big reddish brown AMERICAN, which genuinely lives outside and walks in, and the small striped GERMAN, which does not occur outdoors at all and came inside in a grocery bag. Today I show you the old way.
In this video:
• Why your can failed you, and the one place the label never tells you to spray
• The two species, and why only one of them ever came from outside
• What gets left out to eat, and the bowl on the floor nearly everybody misses
• The warm machine they sit INSIDE, not beside
• The water that decides it: a month alive on water alone, dead in two weeks without
• The drain nobody uses, and why that is the dangerous one
• The dark tight places, the cardboard, and why corrugation is built housing
• The gap, and the three minutes at night that close all five
No bottle to sell you, no spray to push. My mother kept a house in Lipa, in Batangas, where they live in the trees outside the window and never die off in winter. She could not kill her way out of that, so she did the only other thing, every single night. I have kept an American kitchen the same way for 37 years.
Sources used in this video: University of Illinois Extension (German Cockroaches), University of Kentucky Entomology ENTFACT-614 by Michael F. Potter, and Texas A&M AgriLife School IPM (The Science of Drainology).
Tell me in the comments which of the five is in your kitchen tonight, and whether the one you saw was the big reddish brown one or the small striped one. I read every one.
