I Spent 2 Hours Cleaning a Fan’s Toyota… Then Got an Unexpected $30 Tip!

Today’s car wash brought two unexpected surprises! First, a fan parked his old Toyota right outside my shop and contacted me on X, asking me to give it a thorough clean. The car wasn’t particularly filthy compared with some of the vehicles I usually handle, but getting it looking its best still took around two hours. When the owner returned to pick it up, he surprised me with a $30 tip! The second customer was an older woman who brought in a much dirtier car. What amazed me was that she still enjoyed going off-road despite driving a vehicle that was more than 10 years old. After the wash, she generously handed me an $80 tip! She shared a simple but powerful philosophy: life is short, so enjoy it while you can. Her kindness and outlook reminded me that money means little if we never use it to enjoy life. Which tip surprised you more—the $30 or the $80?
